Smart Parts Hood / Trunk Pull Installation Guide

• Choose a suitable mounting location
• Use the mount block as a template to drill for wood screw of machine screws.
• Determine route for cables, drill 5/16" hole for grommets
  1. for fibreglass
  2. for steel
• Install handle(s) onto mounted block and hook up cable and run cable through housing.
• DO NOT CUT housing or cable until final fit is determined.
• Slide on adjuster and bracket and drill and install bracket.
• If a custom bracket is needed to be fabricated, the adjuster is a metric thread 7 x 1.0
• Reinstall housing without cable, mark and cut to length using sharp side cutters, use an AWL to open up teflon liner so cable can slide through freely.
• Reinstall cable spring and clevis, make sure adjustes on block, and at latch and are all the way in.
  Mark and cut off access cable
• Hook up clevis to latch.
• Trip latch and release with handle. Tension can be taken up with adjusters at either end.
  When satisfied that everything works properly, tighten all fasteners and try hood or trunk.
